For effective cervical pain relief we offer the CervTrac stand alone table system. The CervTrac is possibly the safest and most effective cervical traction system available given its long history of successful cervical treatment. Traction force is regulated between 0 and 200 pounds and can be applied with no pressure to the chin. The patient can be treated with constant or intermittent traction as determined necessary. It is easy to use, comfortable and effective for the patient and available for under $4,000.

The CervTrac system is not incorporated into the HealthStar Optima table as one unit as has been the custom of most competing brands. There are several reasons for this position. First, we do not take the view that the cervical can withstand “true decompression” as defined for the lumbar region. Secondly, we are able to reduce the cost of such an equipment package by approximately 85% of that of competing brands by offering it apart from the complex mechanics of the Optima true decompression system for the low back. And thirdly, we are able to keep the more popular and rewarding modality (lumbar decompression) in full use even when cervical traction is necessary.

As decompression therapy gains popularity as an effective modality for low back pain it is important to understand how differently the cervical must be treated from lumbar decompression therapy. This is especially so when there is such a variance of opinion from competing manufactures and such a wide range of price points in equipment designed to treat cervical pain.
